This is a media shot of one of the group smiling. This a good photo that can be used in my magazine preferably in my contents page because it is showing a young man smiloing which would clearly appeal to my target audience which love reading fun magazines.

I took this photo and decided to use it because it is a close-medium shot of one of the boy group. This will be interesting for my target audience who want to see them close up. It will also make them layout of my magazine far more interesting to the eye.

This is one of the photos that i took which is used for the magazine. I used this medium photo because it is vibrant and fun. It looks like the group are having a good time which will appeal to my target audience which are young and vibrant and always like to have a great time. This will add more fun to the magazine and allow me to gain more sales.
There have been many things learnt in terms of technology from the process of producing this product. For example, the regular use of photoshop has allowed for many skills to be gained in it. Photoshop can now be used at a fast pace but at the same time produce quality products. From the continuos use of photoshop it has been learnt how to maniupulate photos very easily and use them to create a more effective product. Furthermore it has been learnt how to manipulate and extent skills in texts. Texts can be used to change target audiences of a profile. For example a sensible text which does not stand out to much could be related to an older target audience. So you could say that throughout the production of the product it has been learnt to use photoshop to change target audiences with the layoutof the magazine. This can also be used to change the genre of the magazine. It has also been learnt to keep an online diary to check up on your work and to keep an evalutation on how you are doing with production work. Research and planning has been learnt to be very important when it comes to helping you with the production of your work as it can be used too look at when it is unclear of the task.
It has been decided that the target audience of boom beat will be between the ages of 16-21. It will be open to both genders because the music that the magazine is based on is listened to by both geneders as much as each other. The 16-21 age group has been decided because this is the age group that listens to the music genre 'hip hop' the most. Furthermore this age group likes to keep up with gossip so it is willing to spend money on magazines. A working class background is were this age group will come from as they are young and will not have large amounts of money to their disposal. The magazine has been priced at £1.99 which is not at all expensive and this age group will be more then happy to buy it. The font that is used the magazine boom beat is very urban and new. This would appeal to this generation because they are enticed by new things and if most are comming from and urban background or even prefer one then they will like the font theme of the magazine which will entice them to buy it.

To make sure that the magazine would appeal to the target audience of 16-21 year olds many codes and conventions had to be achieved such as in other magazines. For example, for the masthead I had to find a font that would appeal to the young generation between 16-21 years of age. The font that I have found is a very urban one which almost looks like graffiti art. This appeals to young people as graffiti and urban fonts are seen in many advertisement's or even buildings around areas in the country. This is appealing to them because it makes them feel as if the magazine is making an effort to make the read as enjoyable and homely as possible because it relates to them. Furthermore the color's used in my magazine are mostly, black white and red. These colors are associated with many famous hip hop artists in the charts who generally don't wear very bright colors but rather prefer to keep it 'cool' by wearing colors such as black. A clear example of t his is Jay-Z.

The images used in my magazine should appeal to my target audience because the young boy group who are wearing very urban clothes such as 'nike'. This would relate to the target audience who will also wear a lot of urban sportswear such as nike or adidas. Also the images of the young people looking as if they are having a good time will appeal to the target audience who are young and like to enjoy there lives. It will also offer a sense of diversion from there lives when they are generally doing a lot of school work.

There are many institutions that you may expect to find my music magazine to be distributed by. One of these institutions could be a school. For my particular audience group which is between the age of 16-21 it could be distributed in sixth forms around the country. It would be a good idea for boom beat to be distributed by sixth forms because this is where most of the target audience is. This means that more copys of the magazine should be sold. Another place were you could expect to find the magazine is in shops that distribute music products such as CD's. This is a good place as this is where many people with an interest in music go to shop for products such as boom beat magazine. Another distributer of boom beat magazine could be online. There are many websites that specialize in selling magazines for low prices which could be suitable for my age group who are at this stage, probably at the worst economic stage of their life. Also the interent has a wide audience so many people will see your product.

'Boom Beat' presents the young social group between 16-21 in many ways. It is representing this group because this is who the magazine is aimed towards and this age group also appears in the magazine. Due to the way the boy band is dressed in the music magazine you could say that the magazine shows this social group as a very urban and up to date one. It challenges the general media of this group which is 'hoodies', they are usually thought by the media as very rude, provocative and related in many crimes. However, 'Boom Beat' makes them look like a very successful social group who have worked hard and achieved their potential. Another code and convention that reinforces what I said about the images presenting the social group as a very urban one is the font. The font is very urban and fresh and suggests that the social group is an urban one. Furthermore the masthead name of the magazine suggests a very outgoing social group which is very successful and well motivated.
Whilst producing my magazine I wanted to find a unique name for my music magazine, one that has not been used amongst current magazines in the UK. So I came up with the name 'Boom Beat'. This is a unique name for a music magazine because when the name was typed on google no current music magazine came up on the search. During the production  of the music magazine we had to produce a blog online and evaluate are work. My music magazine uses current music magazines codes and conventions. One of the codes and conventions used by my magazine is the masthead. The masthead is a code and convention used by every magazine in production. It defines the magazine and suggests many things about the magazine. Many inferences can be made on the magazine due to its masthead. 'Boom Beat' also follows the code and convention of magazines which is a target audience. Most magazines have a set target audience which they try to make their magazine appeal to in order to gain the most sales.
